Chai II

Many of my male friends are excellent cooks within a limited set of options, often their wives are remarkable cooks themselves, Kanika in particular. Among the female friends, there is a lot to be desired. Much sound and fury about food with a highly disproportionate sense of distinction in the simplest of matters, however rich in language and knowledge of indicators, often erring on the side of abundant, foreign, and overwhelming, with little appreciation of subtle and simple.

While it may seem to be a gendered observation, it is merely empirical within a small social set, yet as painted by a sexist imagination as you would like to accuse me of. Also, it must not overlook the possibility of an overall shift in the suggested direction, regardless of the gender. Still, to the extent that the observation is valid, it marks an interest shift of equations, for better or worse.

Where am I located on this map? I perform rather miserably on the cooking index, I've concluded. Though I would like to think on the axis of discernment, I should be located way outside the zone of embarrassment, I would not know. I only consider myself blessed with the talent for making a rather good cup of tea, which pleases me beyond any limits. Nowhere near Anurag Verma however, who makes the best tea in the world that my footsteps have known. But I've successfully learned a trick or two, the taste of today's morning tea suggested to me.
